In summer, you can hike and cycle on the many trails in the area, or explore the impressive nature reserve in Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. Situated only a 15-min walk from the chalet, a wonderful leisure centre at Lake Bleu offers various activities for all ages.

There are a number of shops in Morillon, including a popular bakery. For more choice, head to Samoëns, which is less than a 10-minute drive away.

About the property…

This welcoming, three-storey chalet sleeps 10 guests, including eight adults, and is surrounded by a large, secure garden with a hot tub and a petanque court.

The entrance hall leads to a ski room where you can store your outdoor equipment, and a large room with storage, a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a shower room with a toilet, as well as a cosy reading room with board games and a fridge. This room opens onto a terrace with a table for eight, and a bedroom with a double bed, desk and television.

A staircase leads to the living room on the first floor, which is furnished with a large L-shaped sofa, television, a dining table and a wood-burning stove. Doors from this area open onto a  second, south-facing terrace, where you can fire up the barbecue for an al fresco dinner or enjoy a coffee in the sunshine.

The bright, modern kitchen has everything you need to cater for your group, and there’s also a separate toilet, and a double bedroom with its own shower room.

There are two more bedrooms on the top floor. The first, which is designed with children in mind, has three single beds under the eaves, while the second room is an elegant double bedroom with an extra single bed and a washbasin, making it ideal for a family with a young child. These bedrooms share a spacious shower room and separate toilet.

All of the beds in the chalet will be made up for your arrival, regardless of the number of people in your group, and a bathrobe will be provided for every adult.

The garage can accommodate two cars, and a third vehicle can be parked outside.

About the area...

Chalet Jornata is in the heart of the village of Morillon, and just a few minutes from the ski resort of Samoëns, both of which boast several popular restaurants.

The ski lifts in both villages will give you access to the superb Grand Massif ski area, comprising 265km of pistes for all levels and including the resorts of Flaines, Les Carroz and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. You'll enjoy panoramic views and excellent snow cover.

In summer, the surrounding mountains are covered with walking and cycling trails, and the Giffre river is a popular destination for water sports.

The Lac Bleu leisure centre, just outside Morillon, is a great day out for families. It provides swimming, horse-riding, a treetop adventure course, Segways and much more. Younger children will love the pump track, play areas, inflatables and trampolines. And if you're staying nearby, the trout fishing trip is free!

The village of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, less than 20 minutes' drive away, is well worth a visit, as it is one of the most beautiful villages in France. Nestled in a natural amphitheatre of high limestone cliffs, it is also the starting point for white-water rafting and a via ferrata route.
